The Querini Stampalia Museum in Venice

This palace museum has a soul. And that soul is that of the noble Querini Stampalia family, in whose palace this museum is housed.

As well as admiring paintings by Giovanni Bellini and Gabriel Bella, you'll also have the pleasure of wandering through the rooms of this beautiful Venetian palazzo, all of which are still furnished and decorated to reflect the period.

Among the painters on display were Donato e Catarino, Giovanni Bellini, Lorenzo di Credi, Jacopo Palma the Old and the Young, Bernardo Strozzi and Luca Giordano, Marco e Sebastiano Ricci and Giambattista Tiepolo.

One of the most fascinating rooms in the Palazzo is the one devoted to Gabriel Bella, an 18th-century Venetian painter, with more than 60 canvases depicting the great Venetian festivities and events such as the election of the Doge.

These are essential works from a historical point of view, but also touching ones, for those who want to understand what the sumptuous Venetian festivities of the 18th century were like.
