The Marco Polo bookshop, at the end of Campo Santa Margherita, near dei Carmini church, run by Claudio Moretti, is unusual in that it sells almost exclusively second-hand books, including a section of French-language books on Venice, but also general literature.

This bookshop is still a bookshop as it used to be.

So it's not the marketing and the quality of the halogen spotlights or the most efficient possible layout of the shelves that counts here.

First and foremost, you are in a place dedicated to the love of books and thought, a far cry from commercialism.
