Bahrain “Sweating Assets” Venice International Architecture Biennale
The exhibition at the Bahrain Pavilion, Sweating Assets, aims to demonstrate that making optimal use of the resources we already have to fight climate change is essential. This reflection is based on the fact that our infrastructures and buildings are currently not used to their maximum potential to manage one of the primary resources threatened by climate change: water.
This exhibition from Bahrain aims to show that the water generated by air conditioning systems in extreme weather conditions like those in Bahrain could be reused more intelligently.
To do this, buildings must be seen and designed as receptacles for water condensation.
Air conditioning systems generate two opposing and distinct flows to offer us comfort and freshness.
First of all, they dehumidify the atmosphere, but also and unintentionally, they also create condensation that settles on the glass surfaces.
We must therefore think of our buildings as vast reservoirs of distilled water that must then be redirected to places where water is lacking to limit the risk of drought.
