China “Renewal: a symbiotic narrative” Venice International Architecture Biennale

China, Renewal: a symbiotic narrative, Venice International Architecture Biennale
China, Renewal
For forty years, Chinese architects have undertaken urban and rural renewal based on better communication between people.

This approach also consisted of giving nature more space to counter high-density urban environments and improve inhabitants' quality of life.

The exhibition focuses on themes such as living and renewing, the history of Shanghai, and the future through natural revitalization.

Shanghai's Chinese experience with the constraints of urban development over the past forty years in China is valuable in this respect.

The pavilion strives to tell a unique Chinese story through the prism of the city, nature, and people in our changing living environment.

Explains Ruan Xing, one in charge of the pavilion who is also the director of the School of Design at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.
