Pauliina Feodoroff “Sculptures” Nordic Sami Pavilion Venice Biennale Art Exhibition
Pauliina Feodoroff was born in 1977; she lives and works in Finland. His works are exhibited in the Nordic Sami Pavilion at the Giardini.
Pauliina Feodoroff's family has always been linked to the reindeer herds that provided her livelihood.
Originally from the Kola Peninsula in the Russian part of Sapmi, the Feorodoff were forced to abandon their lands to emigrate to Finland when the Russian border was changed and closed in 1944.
That's how Pauliina Feodoroff was born in Finland.
It fights against the dispossession of the rights of its ancestral land but also against deforestation and its role in the degradation of river biodiversity and fishing traditions.
It is also fighting against the role of modernization and Finnish laws that jeopardize the collective models of the existence of the Sami people.
His works are intended to liberate the Sami people physically and mentally.
