Avery Singer Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition
Avery Singer, born in 1987 in the United States, lives and works in New York.
His works are exhibited at the Venice Art Biennale in the Arsenal Corderie and in the central pavilion of the Giardini.
To create his works, Avery Singer uses SketchUp, a 3D modelling software architects use.
Using this software, she creates analogue and digital works in two or three dimensions.
Then she projects the result obtained on a canvas.
Then she simplifies facial features to the level of a barely begun sketch while maintaining their expression and completing them with an airbrush.
His technique is to reduce bodily elements to their simplest expression.
As she indicates, an eyebrow can be represented by a simple rectangle, a pair of breasts by an aberrant asymmetric extrusion on the body.
This approach allows her to create asexual portraits to accentuate the ambiguity of identity.
