Cathy Wilkes at Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition
Cathy Wilkes' creations occupy six rooms in the Great Britain Pavilion at the 2019 Venice Art Biennale.
Cathy Wilkes affirms that her works are about “the smallest particle of suffering” and that she is, as a subject acting on the object, as many atoms emerging from their lap.
Her work would consist of observing and representing the spectra of these interferences that proceed from their origin and move before her.
She even goes so far as to imagine the possible changes if she disappears... to conclude:
On the left, as on the right, there is nothing worth seeing or hearing.
“I'm going home to wait and arouse what's yet to come.
After nothing, there may be something in 2021!”
