George Condo Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition
George Condo, born in 1957 in the United States, lives and works in New York.
At the end of the 1980s, George Condo invented “artificial realism” which was intended to disassemble one reality to build another with the same parts.
Unfortunately, an artificial realism that has become a reality today, according to George Condo, for whom social networks are mainly responsible for the rise of artificial-realistic policies.
His “Facebook” board is an expression of the lie of social networks where “friends” entrust you with their friendship... without being your friends.

Painting - Acrylic, Metallic Varnish, Plaster and Pastel on Linen (2019) Biennale Art VeniceHis painting “Double Elvis” exhibited in the Arsenal Corderie, evokes the time when he worked for Andy Warhol by printing the series of serigraphs “Myths” dedicated to icons of American pop culture, including Warhol’s “Double Elvis”.
But in this painting, the glamorous effect of Warhol accentuated by a silver screen print reverses this perception of the king of rock and roll by replacing it, with broad strokes of brushes and pastels, with two thug bums qualified by himself as “the great glorification of the baseness of humanity”.
