Alexander Calder at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice
Alexander Calder was an artist close to Peggy Guggenheim.
He made for her this “Silver Bed Head”, a superb sculpture of cut silver leaves.
And if we know Alexandre Calder especially for his mobile sculptures, of which he was the inventor, he also created, especially for Peggy Guggenheim two small mobile sculptures in the form of earrings!
His mobile sculptures are also in the spotlight at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection with a big mobile “Arc of Petals” hanging in the hall, which accesses the Grand Canal and another's terrace, dating from 1934, exhibited in the same room as the “Silver Bed Head”;
